Bigger Than Us: Pitch Night at Nilu (Past Event)

Pitch Night and its open call to the creators, makers, artists, and designers of Harlem to pitch us their unique and thoughtful products is back. But listen, Pitch Night is not just about us. It’s bigger than us. Pitch Night is all about creating collaboration, community, and showing genuine support to our creatives and entrepreneurs.

And while, yes, Pitch Night is sort of exclusive to Harlem, remember this thing is bigger than us so we wanted to share the best parts of the night with you. Not only so you can get excited about shopping again—buying with intention is a beautiful thing—but to show love to the people trying to grind it out, build a dream, and inspire real change in our communities and beyond. It was a great turn out.

The energy was so positive and we appreciate folks sharing their heart and passion with us. Here’s a quick peek into November Pitch Night:

The Decore Life

These handmade goods and accessories brand that creates simple accents to upgrade your home was one of our favorites. Think, textiles, candles, pillows and more.

At Pitch Night, the owner Andrea, showcased her two different candle designs, a glass cylinder and a chocolate brown cylinder, along with a few scents we fell in love with.

Claudia Hayden Art

Harlem T-shirts? Sign us up! That’s exactly what visual artist Claudia Hayden brought to the building on Pitch Night. The daughter of internationally celebrated sculptor Frank Hayden, Claudia infuses her artistic painting with her musical background as a flautist and composer.

Her t-shirt designs feature abstract prints of musical notes but that’s not it. She also offers note cards of the same. Learn more about this talented artist at www.claudiahaydenart.com.

The Invisible Kitten

Everyone loves a nice greeting card and Megan VerSteeg, owner of The Invisible Kitten, has created a line of cute, kitten inspired options for every occasion. Each card is printed and features an intentional phrase and quirky drawing, designed to make you smile. Red Bridge Studio

Hand made, hand-printed, handcrafted in Brooklyn. Need we say more? For the artfully inspired, Red Bridge Studio offers a thoughtful mixture of textiles, bags, and wears for people who love texture and pattern.
